St Katharine Dock is one of London's most iconic mixed-use destinations — a historic dock reimagined as a vibrant hub for modern business. The project design brief called for open and flexible working spaces that could adapt to different teams and activities throughout the day.
However, open-plan environments present a well-known acoustic challenge: without walls or partitions to absorb sound, rooms become reverberant. Hard surfaces reflect sound energy, creating uncomfortable echo and reverberation that undermines concentration, communication, and wellbeing.
