Product Description

The MG100 is ModernGlide's flagship top-hung movable acoustic wall system. Individual panels slide along an overhead extruded aluminium track and seal together to create a solid, independently certified acoustic barrier. Panels suspend from the overhead track with no floor rail required, creating a completely clean floor-level finish and allowing uninterrupted movement across the floor plate when panels are stored in the dedicated parking bay.

The MG100 achieves independently certified acoustic ratings from Rw 48 dB up to Rw 59 dB. Performance is achieved through panel mass, multi-layer construction and automatic perimeter sealing systems — all independently tested to ISO 140-3 and rated in accordance with ISO 717-1.

The system is installed by ModernGlide's FIS-accredited team with full project management from survey through to commissioning and handover. The MG100 is specified across education, offices, hotels, conference facilities and public buildings where flexible space division and high acoustic performance are both required.

Acoustic Performance Grades

All ratings independently laboratory tested to ISO 140-3 and rated in accordance with ISO 717-1. The MG100 is available in four acoustic grades to suit the specific requirements of each project.

GradeRw RatingRecommended Application
MG100 StandardRw 48 dBSuitable for open-plan office subdivision and general meeting rooms
MG100 EnhancedRw 52 dBEnhanced specification for conference rooms and meeting suites
MG100 High PerformanceRw 56 dBHigh performance for lecture theatres and boardrooms
MG100 PremiumRw 59 dBMaximum performance for recording studios and critical acoustic environments

Acoustic Sealing: Acoustic seals are critical to achieving the rated performance. The MG100 uses top and bottom seals that compress against the floor and ceiling structure when panels are in position — eliminating air gaps that allow sound to flank around the partition. Seals can be specified as manual or automatic (drop-down) operation.

Typical Applications

The MG100 movable acoustic wall is specified across a wide range of commercial, educational, hospitality and community projects where flexible space division and high acoustic performance are both required.

Conference Halls and Function Suites

Subdivide large halls into multiple independent rooms with full acoustic separation. The MG100 is the standard specification for purpose-built conference venues.

Corporate Offices and Boardrooms

Create flexible meeting suites and boardrooms from open-plan floors. Acoustic performance ensures confidentiality during sensitive discussions.

Schools and Education Buildings

Combine or subdivide classrooms, lecture theatres and sports halls. The MG100 withstands the demands of heavy daily use in educational environments.

Hotels and Hospitality Venues

Divide banqueting suites and event spaces for multiple simultaneous functions. Premium finishes integrate seamlessly with luxury interior schemes.

Community and Leisure Halls

Transform multi-purpose halls for different community uses. Acoustic separation allows simultaneous activities such as fitness classes, meetings and events.

Places of Worship

Create flexible worship and ancillary spaces. Acoustic performance supports clear speech intelligibility — critical in worship environments.

Structural Loading Data

  • Dead load imposed on overhead structure
  • Typical loads: 80–150 kg per metre of track length
  • Varies by panel size, finish and configuration
  • Full structural loading calculations provided with each project specification
  • Structural survey carried out pre-installation
  • Suitable for retrofit into existing buildings

Structural loading calculations are provided with each project specification for review by the structural engineer. ModernGlide's technical team carries out a structural survey as part of the pre-installation process to confirm suitability and identify any structural reinforcement required.

Specifier Guidance

Recommended Acoustic Performance

  • General meeting rooms: Rw 48–52 dB

  • Lecture theatres: Rw 54–56 dB
  • Critical acoustic environments: Rw 56–59 dB
  • All ratings to ISO 140-3 / ISO 717-1

Key Specification Considerations

  • Structural capacity of the overhead slab or beam
  • Coordination with ceiling contractor for track recess
  • Parking bay location and floor plate impact
  • Panel finish selection relative to usage frequency
  • Sealing system: manual vs automatic
  • Pass door requirement and fire rating if applicable
