Product Description

The MG200 is a floor-supported hinged folding partition system designed for projects where the ceiling structure cannot support a top-hung operable wall. Unlike top-hung systems such as the MG100, the MG200 transfers its primary load through the floor track — making it a practical solution for buildings with limited overhead structural capacity, including many older commercial buildings, community facilities and education buildings.

Panels are connected and fold concertina-style, allowing large openings to be created or closed rapidly by a single operator. The MG200 achieves acoustic ratings from Rw 42 dB up to Rw 49 dB, independently tested to ISO 140-3 and rated in accordance with ISO 717-1. An integrated acoustic pass door is included as standard in every MG200 system. The system is installed by ModernGlide's FIS-accredited team with full project management from survey through to commissioning and handover.

  • Laminate — HPL or melamine
  • Natural veneer — oak, walnut, ash
  • Painted — RAL colour matching
  • Client-supplied material accepted

Panel Options

  • Solid panels throughout
  • Mixed solid and glazed panels
  • Full-height glazed panels
  • Partial-height glazed sections
  • Integrated pass door (standard)
  • Vision panel options

Opening Configurations

  • Single-stack — panels stack at one end
  • Bi-parting — panels stack at both ends
  • Single wing operation
  • Centre folding operation
  • End folding operation
  • Consult technical team for specifics

Acoustic Sealing Systems

DDA compliant floor track with rubber seal
Rubber fixed top seal at ceiling head
Rubber fixed bottom seal at floor
Edge profile rubber seals between panels
Acoustic pass door seal as standard

Structural Loading Data

  • Primary load transfers through the floor track
  • Overhead guide rail provides lateral stability only
  • Ceiling structure requirements significantly reduced vs top-hung
  • Floor track must be continuous across the full opening width
  • Structural survey carried out pre-installation
  • Full loading calculations provided with each project specification

Typical Applications

Meeting rooms in buildings with limited ceiling structure
School halls and classrooms — older or refurbished buildings
Community centres and multi-use halls
Training and conference rooms
Churches and places of worship
Commercial offices where top-hung is not viable
Healthcare and clinical environments
Leisure centres and sports facilities

Specifier Guidance

Recommended Acoustic Performance

  • General meeting rooms: Rw 42–46 dB
  • Training and community spaces: Rw 46–49 dB
  • Education halls: Rw 46–49 dB
  • All ratings to ISO 140-3 / ISO 717-1
  • Consult technical team for project-specific targets

Key Specification Considerations

  • Confirm ceiling structure cannot support a top-hung system
  • Floor track continuity across the full opening width
  • Panel finish durability relative to usage frequency
  • Opening width — bi-parting vs single-stack layout
  • Pass door position and acoustic rating
  • Fire rating if required — confirm at design stage
  • Engage at RIBA Stage 2 or 3 for floor track coordination

Available Documentation

  • NBS Chorus specification clauses
  • CAD drawings (PDF and DWG)
  • BIM objects (Revit compatible)
  • Acoustic test certificates
  • Structural loading calculations
  • O&M manual
  • Installation guidance
