FIS Accredited

Product Description

The MG500 is a flush glazed sliding folding partition system combining slim aluminium framing with full-height glass panels and acoustic performance up to Rw 43 dB. It is available in four operating configurations — hinged sliding folding (floor supported), pivot panel (top hung), pocket straight sliding (top hung) and operable wall (top hung) — giving architects and designers maximum flexibility to suit any project layout.

Acoustic performance is achieved through dual-layer low iron or clear glass construction with acoustic seals at top and bottom — independently tested to ISO 140-3 and rated in accordance with ISO 717-1. The system is the preferred choice wherever visual openness and meaningful acoustic separation are equally required. The MG500 is installed by ModernGlide's FIS-accredited team with full project management from survey through to commissioning and handover.

Specifier Guidance

Recommended Acoustic Performance

  • General office meeting rooms: Rw 36–39 dB
  • Formal conference rooms: Rw 39–43 dB
  • Above Rw 43 dB: specify MG600 instead
  • Where acoustics are secondary to aesthetics: MG900
  • All ratings to ISO 140-3 / ISO 717-1

Key Specification Considerations

  • Confirm structural capacity for overhead track
  • Configuration 1 requires a shallow floor track — coordinate with flooring contractor
  • Stacking space required at one or both ends
  • Manifestation required under Building Regs Part M
  • Confirm fire rating requirement at design stage
  • Low iron glass recommended for premium interiors
  • Engage at RIBA Stage 2 or 3 for configuration coordination

Available Documentation

  • NBS Chorus specification clauses
  • CAD drawings (PDF and DWG)
  • BIM objects (Revit compatible)
  • Acoustic test certificates
  • Structural loading calculations
  • O&M manual
